Everyone knows that Southern food just can't be matched ... and beverages are no exception.
I have a Christmas tea a few years ago, in the small town bank during the holiday party, and I am willing to do anything for the recipe. This is a good one.
As it turns out, it is from a cookbook Hometown that is almost as old as the city itself. So, if you're looking for tea-tea recipes fall or Christmas, you've found it. Look no further. Close all others recipes that you have open, because this is the one that you want to go with.
Ingredients:
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 tbsp whole cloves
- 3 cups sugar (haven't made it with Splenda, but I'm sure you can!)
- 1 Qt. boiling water
- 1 Qt. of strong tea (really really strong)
- 3 lemon juice (or lemon juice)
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1 cup orange juice
- 3 quarts (you can sub a few of these for Apple!) boiling water
Direction:
- Bring to a boil 1 qt water (or Juice), add cinnamon sticks, cloves and sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain out spices. Tea and add remaining ingredients. Serve hot or cold!
- After making a couple of times, it's always the best the next day. It is great fresh, of course, but even better after sitting overnight in the fridge. You can drink hot or cold. Cinnamon and clove mesh well with the flavor of the tea — and notes of Orange only became a perfect finish. I promise you, if you do this, you will be asked for this Christmas tea recipe, if not crowned King or Queen of the party!
- Enjoy monkey bread caramel apples with this easy or while you make the cake.
- While I'm drinking my Christmas tea.
